Faith Christian Soccer Ready for Playoffs
The action is also heating up on the high school soccer pitch… The post-season gets started tomorrow and there is a lot of local representation.
The Faith Christian Lions are back in the playoffs for a 2nd consecutive season- but it hasn’t been easy. After winning last season’s area title, the Lions limped out of the gate this year starting 1-3 overall. But they found a groove in Mid-March and won 7 out of 10 games and won the area title for the 2nd straight year.
The Lions are a very young team overall but they do have playoff experience on their side. Head coach Erik McDaniel says this is the most versatile team in school history with several players able to play at different positions giving them a wide range of formations to run.
The Lions first round matchup is against defending state champion Collisionville. The Panthers are having a down season (by their standards) at 6-13, but they have a lot of playoff experience and eliminated Faith last season. But the Lions will have the home-field advantage and a great shot at redemption.
