Temporary Fix to Transmitter Problem

Saturday, April 26, 2014

The National Weather Service provides a temporary fix to the problems with the radio transmitter malfunction in Birmingham. Technicians have not restored the transmitter to full power and coverage, but the fix does provide coverage to a good number of radios that may not have been able to receive a sufficient signal from a backup transmitter. Due to the threat of severe weather in our area on Monday, the National Weather Service encourages people to seek alternative means of emergency alert notifications should the emergency alert radios fail to perform.
