Music is a universal language. And, today, band students from Anniston High School were provided the opportunity to hear-through one man’s trumpet playing-the lyrical and important themes of empowerment, self-confidence, and success. James King, the trumpet player for pop superstar Bruno Mars, was invited to come to town by the Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention to talk to the high school and Anniston Middle School. He played his instrument and talked to students about his life and the importance of their choices. The Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention has hosted other well-known personalities that have spoken on the lifestyle of prevention to Anniston High School students and Middle School students.
