Governor Robert Bentley has declared a state of emergency in Alabama as a result of the storm damage. National Guard members are on standby to help where needed in response and recovery efforts. The American Red Cross is also on standby to help where needed. They are also providing additional shelter locations on standby in various areas around the state. TV24 talked to American Red Cross Regional Communication Officer, Chris Osborne, to find out what people can do to help. Osborne adds that it’s going to take the cooperation of civic groups, organizations, and churches to help our communities recover.
