Oxford High School Students Visit Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston

A group of high school seniors and juniors receive top-of-the-line training to prepare them to provide support during natural and chemical disasters. Students from Oxford High School visit the Center for Domestic Preparedness today as part of their Community Emergency Response Team training. The health science class students have been learning about disaster preparedness in a classroom module for the past couple of weeks and this special, learning tour is helping to integrate the classroom lessons with more real-world and hands-on activities. Once the students have completed their training, they will be able to perform triage, treatment, gather supplies during a disaster, and help with communications. This is the first tour of its kind at the Center for Domestic Preparedness.
