5 Men Indicted for Counterfeit Government Documents
According to a press release from the Northern District of Alabama U.S. Attorney, Calhoun County is one of three counties where three people were provided counterfeit Social Security and Permanent Resident cards by Pedro Montanez-Mendez. He supplied the counterfeit government identification documents between February 18th and March 26th. A federal grand jury indicted four other men in connection with the production and distribution of counterfeit Social Security and Permanent Resident Alien cards. The men are charged in three separate indictments filed in U.S. District Court. The other two counties are Tuscaloosa County and Marshal County. Montanez-Mendez is also charged with illegally re-entering the United States after previously having been deported.
