Bentley Requests Additional Assistance From FEMA

Governor Robert Bentley has sent a letter to the President requesting additional assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in response to the recent tornado outbreak in Alabama, today. The governor requested an expedited major disaster declaration for Alabama to provide Individual Assistance and Public Assistance for Alabama counties impacted by the severe weather. If granted, Individual Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster. The counties included in the initial request for individual assistance includes Baldwin, Lee, Limestone and Jefferson. Additional counties may be added in the future.
