Teen Poetry Slam in Gadsden

A Gadsden organization is giving area teens a chance to improve their writing and public speaking skills – and to share those skills with the public. The City of Champions Toastmasters organization is sponsoring a Spoken Word and Poetry Slam for Gadsden teens next week at the Gadsden Public Library. Toastmasters is an international organization whose goal is to teach and mentor better leadership and communications skills. In Gadsden, that includes a series of workshops involving teens. orkshop participant Eric Simmons says that his participation has been a great experience and that other teens should get involved. The Spoken Word/Poetry Slam is set for Tuesday, May 6th from 5pm until 6pm in the Lena Martin Room at the Gadsden Public Library Main Branch.
