Train Accident Claims the Lives of Mother and Child in Oxford

Two Oxford residents died over the weekend when their car was struck by a train. The accident happened Saturday at the railroad crossing at Coleman Road behind Lamar’s Donuts. Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown has identified the victims as 37-year-old Temeshica Chatman and 7-year-old Nytavioun Powell. Brown says that the two were thrown from the car when the train struck it.
