Emergency Funding Approved in Etowah County

Members of the three Etowah County Community Development Committees met today to approve some emergency funding in the wake of last week’s tornado that hit in the county. Committee members from Districts 28, 29 and 30 joined together to approve the emergency appropriations for the five volunteer fire departments that responded to the devastating storm. The money was approved at the unanimous request of all four members of the county’s legislative delegation. Each volunteer fire department listed here will receive $6,000 in emergency funding. The funding will be used to help with the costs of fuel, supplies and equipment that were incurred during their response to the storm.
