Tax Relief for Storm Survivors

The Internal Revenue Service is offering tax relief for storm survivors. Limestone, Jefferson, Lee, and Baldwin counties were declared disaster areas by President Obama and will qualify for extended tax deadlines. The IRS says some tax deadlines between April 28th and October 15th have been postponed to October 15th. This includes the May 15th deadline for tax-exempt organizations to file their annual Form 990. It also includes the June 16th and September 15th deadlines for making quarterly estimated tax payments. The tax relief also affects a variety of business tax deadlines, including the April 30th and July 31st deadlines for quarterly payroll and excise tax returns.
