Sheriff's Rodeo Fun Day in Etowah County

Friday, May 9, 2014

The first ever Etowah County Sheriff's Rodeo is set for this weekend and members of the Sheriff's Mounted Unit kicked things off with a special day of fun for some local kids. Cowboys from the LoneStar Rodeo Company and the Sheriff's Mounted Unit treated more than 70 special needs students from Etowah County, Gadsden City and Attalla City to a day at the rodeo grounds. After the mini-rodeo this morning, the kids got to interact with the cowboys and the animals. One special rodeo guest says the day was as big of a deal for the adults as it was for the kids. The day put a lot of smiles on a lot of faces...and generated a lot of fun. TV24 is proud to be one of the corporate sponsors for this year's rodeo and we look forward to seeing everyone there this weekend. The Etowah County Sheriff's Rodeo is set for this Friday and Saturday at the Fairgrounds in Attalla. Gates open at 6pm and the rodeo starts at 8pm. Tickets at the gate will be $15 for Adults and $10 for Children. Proceeds from the rodeo benefit the Sheriff's Mounted Unit, the Reserve Unit and the Sheriff's Office Charity Fund that provides Christmas for needy kids each year.
