Capital Murder

Charges have been filed against a man accused of shooting and killing a Birmingham police officer. 40-year-old Patrick Johnson is charged with capital murder in the death of Officer Keary Hollis.  Police said the 35-year-old officer was off-duty when the incident happened.  Investigators say that Johnson shot Hollis after an argument in the parking lot of a convenience store Saturday night. 

Hollis has been with the Birmingham Police Department for more than five years.  He leaves behind four children.
