Attempted Murder

An argument between two relatives in Etowah County leads to attempted murder charges. "Lucky" Jim Gilbreath of Altoona  is accused of cutting a relative's throat with a knife after the two men argued over the Department of Human Resources taking custody of Gilbreath's children.  

he sheriff's office says the incident happened Tuesday at a home on Durham Road near the Howelton community.  Gilbreath is in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash  bond. The unidentified victim is recovering after receiving 78 stitches at a local hospital.
