An Attalla man is dead after an accident involving a train. Carlton Williams was driving across railroad tracks when it’s believed that his car stalled. According to Etowah County Coroner, Michael Gladden, Williams got out of his vehicle and attempted to flag the oncoming train to prevent a collision. The train struck Williams’ car, and then he was struck and thrown more than 20 feet .The collision happened about 10:00 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of 13th Avenue North West in Attalla. Williams was pronounced dead at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
