ID Fraud Ring in Alabama

The U.S. Department of Justice has charged nine women, seven of them from Phenix City, Alabama, with running an I-D fraud ring. Officials talked about the case in Montgomery today. They said the women stole identities from a number of U.S. Soldiers and filed thousands of tax returns, claiming more than 20-million dollars. U.S. Attorney General George Beck said it's sad that those defending our country overseas were targeted by fellow Americans. According to authorities, one of the defendants worked at Fort Benning, which is how they claim she gained access to the personal information.
