National EMS Week Proclamation in Oxford

The city of Oxford recognizes Oxford E-M-S with a proclamation for National E-M-S Week. The Oxford City Council says the recognition is for the service they provide to the community day in and day out. ) Today, One Oxford E-M-S employee shared that he is appreciative of the acknowledgement and it makes his team feel more a part of the larger community. National E-M-S Week has a long history. The U.S. Congress authorized the Emergency Medical Services Systems Act of 1973 to show support for E-M-S providers during difficult economic, political, and budgetary times. And, a year later President Ford proclaimed Emergency Medical Services Week.
