Holiday Traffic Fatalities

State Troopers are reporting three traffic deaths during the extended Memorial Day weekend. The holiday travel period began at 6 p.m. Friday and ended at midnight Monday.  State Troopers say the fatal crashes happened in Jackson, Shelby and Wilcox counties and that none of the individuals killed was wearing a seat belt.  Two people died in traffic crashes involving motorcycles during the same holiday travel period last year.
