FEMA Corps in Anniston

A national program designed to give adults ages 18 through 24 years of age the opportunity to serve their community by working directly with disaster survivors and supporting disaster recovery centers is ending its 50-day deployment at the Center For Domestic Preparedness in Anniston. FEMA Corps, which is a part of AmeriCorps assigned a team of young people to the C-D-P to further teach them diversity and community relations. Members serve in teams of 8 to 12 and are assigned to projects throughout the region served by their campus. Their term of public service can range from 10 months to 2 years and they travel to complete service projects throughout those regions.
