Jacksonville Named 12th Safest City in Movoto Real Estate

One Calhoun County city ranks in the top 20 of safest places to live in Alabama. A new blog released by Movoto Real Estate lists Jacksonville as number 12 on the list. The company analyzed data from the 2012 FBI Uniform Crime Report to come up with the rankings. They looked at the number of murders, rapes, robberies, assaults, burglaries, thefts and vehicle thefts. The study covered Alabama cities with at least 10,000 residents that report crime statistics to the FBI. Fort Payne, in DeKalb County ranks 7th on the list of safest places to live in Alabama. The number one city on the list is Helena in Shelby County.
