Heflin Police Department Continues Search for Murderer

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

12 years ago on September 16, 2002, a quiet, peaceful community in Heflin suffered the horror of murder.  A relative found a mother and son murdered in their home on Sugar Hill Road.   And, after all those years, the killing of 23-year-old Monica Rollins, 5-year-old Dalton Rollins, and an unborn child, has the community still questioning who would do such a thing and why? Agents with the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Helflin Police Department have gathered information about the crime, they have questioned many people, and have potential DNA evidence, but they have yet to make an arrest.  TV24 spoke to officials with the Heflin Police Department, today, and they told us that they are still determined to crack this case.   They are certain they will find the murderer, and have reorganized their efforts and revitalized their team to make sure justice is served. The Heflin Police Department is continuously searching for new leads and new evidence.  If you have any information regarding this crime, call the Heflin Police at 256-463-2291.
