Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance

Cherokee County authorities arrest three individuals for the possession of ‘spice’ in Leesburg on Saturday night. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Dontavious Hardy, Stanley Winston, and Joel Harwick- all of Gadsden, were believed to be throwing beer cans from a black Mustang that they were reportedly driving drunk on Alabama Highway 273. State Troopers spotted the car and stopped them on Highway 68 in Leesburg. A Deputy arrived at the scene and recovered several packages of spice and alcohol. Each suspect was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and underage possession of alcohol, and were later transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center. The Juvenile Probation Office was contacted for the juvenile.
