Gadsden Riverfest Preparation

Gadsden’s River Fest is also coming up this weekend. Not only will you hear good music, but you’ll also be able to entertain your teens with a dance zone, zip across a 300 foot zip line that will shoot you across the length of a football field, eat some deliciously decadent treats, throw back a few brews, and check out some decorated riverboats. According to Co-Coordinator for Riverfest, Kerri Griffin, roads to and surrounding the event closed at 8:00AM this morning. Alabama Highway 411 is closed up and through Walnut Street and at the red light in front of the Chili’s restaurant. Griffin said the stage is nearing completion and they are expecting good weather. Crowds are expected to exceed 30,000 over the two-day musical weekend that starts June 13th and ends June 14th. The great artists that will perform include: Third Eye Blind, The Jeremy Jackson Band, Wynonna & The Big Noise, The LACS, Justin Chain, and Riley Green. Riverfest tickets can be purchased online at and range from $10 for children and up to $35 for adults. Gates open at 4:00PM on June 13th.
