Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree

The Coosa County Sheriff’s Office arrests a Talladega County man on possession of marijuana. Nathan Smith, who lives in Sylacauga, but owns property in Coosa County, was arrested and charged on June 7. Sheriff’s Deputies, answering a domestic call, chased an unidentified person into a field near Rockford. Upon entering the field, deputies say they found 107 marijuana plants growing.. Alabama ABC Agents assigned to the Moonshine Task Force were called and asked to assist with the case. After the property owner was identified as Smith, Coosa County Sheriff’s deputies obtained a warrant for his arrest. Authorities located Smith traveling to Sylacauga the following day and took him into custody. Smith was charged with Possession of Marijuana. He’s being held in the Coosa County jail.
