U.S. Small Business Administration Approves $50 milllion in disaster assistance

The U. S. Small Business Administration approves more than $50 million in Disaster Assistance Loans to homeowners, renters and businesses in parts Alabama, Florida and Mississippi that were affected by the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding that occurred in late April. According to reports, more than 1,000 disaster loans have been approved for affected survivors. SBA's disaster loans for physical damages are available to homeowners, renters and businesses of all sizes. Small businesses and private non-profit organizations of all sizes are eligible to apply for an Economic Injury Disaster Loans to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster. Assistance is available regardless of whether the business suffered any physical property damage. Survivors may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application at SBA's secure website at disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.
