NEAEI Film Camp in Jacksonville

High School students learning about moviemaking from professionals at the Longleaf Studios’ North East Alabama Entertainment Initiative Film Business and Technology Camp are getting ready to complete their weeklong journey into the world of film. Today, they are continuing production on a short film and tomorrow they will edit and watch it. Although the students signed up for the camp for different reasons- some were encouraged by their parents and others took on the challenge because of their personal passion for movies-all 12 participants agree that they’ve learned that the magic of filmmaking involves more than what meets the eye. Camp participants say they are being well prepared for future plans by learning about putting together film projects, setting up lights, and being taught one of the most important parts of filmmaking, teamwork. Hollywood film professional Jeffrey Nichols, along with top independent filmmaker, Rohan Dhurandhar, provided students with the basic knowledge of film production.
