Let Them Shine Family Summit in Anniston

As the leadership within the City of Anniston continues to promote One City One Vision; today, its children gathered together at a summit to learn to appreciate the unity within their own families. The Anniston Community Education Foundation held its fourth annual Let Them Shine Family Summit at Anniston High School. The summit presented forums on bullying, family information, and even had a job fair for attendees. Summit guests included television personalities, health and wellness professionals, career coaches, and academic professionals. According to Charles D. Gregory, Sr., Anniston High School Assistant Principal, the summit assists the community by helping to implement programs that will encourage and empower area children.

Helping local children to see that they can be their best is an important goal for today’s summit, according to Anniston Community Education Foundation Executive Director, Kerwin Allen. He says the foundation will distribute school supply vouchers that they believe will give financial assistance to local parents.
