Soldier Presents Calhoun Commission Deployment Flag

The Calhoun County Commission meeting took on a patriotic tone, today.

Master Sergeant Richard Moore presented a flag that flew over Afghanistan in 2013 during his Alabama National Guard tour on active duty and also presented a certificate of authenticity crafted by the Afghan people. Moore says he has gratitude for his wife’s boss and fellow employees. His wife is a state of Alabama employee and she works out of Calhoun County. He added that they took special care of her while he was away serving. Moore said this was his way of showing his appreciation for all the things the Calhoun County Commission does for the veterans of Calhoun County. After Moore made his presentation, the Calhoun County Commissioners made a presentation of their own to Moore. They gave him a certificate thanking him for his duty during his deployment and for the work that all soldiers do for Calhoun County.
