For those of us who are movie buffs, we can remember the iconic images from the movie Forrest Gump. The pictures of his character running across America spurred on by the love he had for his Jenny. Well, in real life there is a woman out of Los Angeles, California, who also has an enduring passion. She has an unending gratitude for the men and women of our Armed Forces. And she, like Forrest is running across America because of her love; her love for our American veterans. Judd started her run on March 22nd and plans to finish by the end of July or early August. She is averaging 33 miles a day, 5 days a week. That’s a little more than 1 and one-fourth marathons a day all the way to New York. She runs for 10 miles. She stops. And then she runs for another 10 miles, sometimes, picking up fellow runners from groups of people who follow her on Facebook and who choose to run along. Judd says that what she is doing is a good start to making a change. Judd will continue onto Atlanta, Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia. She says that when her journey is complete she would have gone through three pairs of shoes. And she feels real good about that. Judd is an artist by trade and she will create a series of paintings to document her experiences across America, there is a documentary film in the works, and she hopes to write a book.
