Citizens of Gadsden who want to run for city office in August will have a two week qualifying period that starts tomorrow. Qualifying for Gadsden’s municipal elections will run from July 1st through July 15. The mayor’s office and all seven city council positions will be up for grabs this year. Those who wish to qualify as a candidate can do so at the city clerk’s office at city hall. The city clerk’s office is located on the 4th floor of city hall and is open from 8am until 4:30pm Monday thru Friday – with plans to remain open until 5pm on the 15th. The city’s Municipal election is scheduled for Tuesday, August 26. Since there have been some district changes since the last elections, voters in the city will receive a postcard in the mail with notification of their correct polling location.
