Former Gadsden City High School star Dre Kirkpatrick now plays with the big boys in the NFL, but he has never forgotten his roots. That love for home was evident this weekend. Kirkpatrick hosted his 21 kids youth camp all day Saturday at Gadsden City High School. The camp was free of charge to youth in the 1st through 12th grades. The students learned the techniques of football and agility from Kirkpatrick and other former high school and college players. The former Bama star says he was once on of these kids and it’s a joy to give back to his hometown.

Kirkpatrick is back for another season with the Cincinnati Bengals and this year he has a familiar face as a teammate- former Tide quarterback AJ McCarron who also spent part of his off-season in Gadsden signing autographs for fans before the draft.

Dre is ready for his 3rd season in Cincinnati and for the first time he heads into the year 100% healthy. The Bengals start the preseason August 7th… For more on his foundation log onto www.drekirkpatrick27.com
