Fourth of July and fireworks just go together, just like the hot dogs and bar-b-cue enjoyed on that day. Most of us have fond memories of enjoying the bright lights and the big boom of the evening’s fireworks, but with that fun also comes the responsibility of safety. And one local fireworks business whose slogan is We Sell Fun, says you can’t have fun unless you are safe. Crazy Ken’s Fire Works owner, Lamar Sims, gives us some safety advice. He also says to always shoot fireworks outside, and that even though sparklers seem harmless they can cause serious injury. Sparklers get up to a temperature of 1200 degrees. Sims says don’t let kids get too close together when handling this type of fireworks.
