Sex Abuse Charges: Mack Davis

A former youth pastor faces sex abuse charges.  Mack Davis was a pastor at Lakeside Baptist Church and is now facing charges in Cherokee, Jefferson, and St.Clair Counties.  Two men accuse Davis of molesting them more than 30 years ago.  Davis was arrested by Cherokee County authorities in early April.  He was arrested on charges of Attempted Sodomy 2nd Degree and seven counts of Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree.  After being released on bond he was arrested again on May 20th on a Jefferson County grand jury indictment.  The indictment charges him with three counts of second degree sexual abuse of a minor between the ages of 12 and 16, with one count of first degree sodomy and with two counts of first degree sexual abuse. He currently faces a total of fifteen charges from the three counties, and is now being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a bond of $150,000.
