Alabama Department of Public Health officials say they are looking at four more possible cases of the mosquito-borne virus Chikungunya. Health officials say the Centers for Disease Control has sent back preliminary positive findings for the illness from four Alabama residents. Two are from Colbert County and the others are from Jefferson and Tuscaloosa counties. Officials also say that they are waiting on test results from at least six other possible cases. Six of the ten had been on two different church mission trips to the Caribbean. The other four people had also recently visited the same area. The four preliminary positive cases are in addition to one confirmed case last week in Madison County. Health officials remind residents that Chikungunya (chik-in-GUHN'-yuh) can't be spread person-to-person. It can only be contracted through a mosquito bite.
