A crowd of thousands is expected in Downtown Gadsden tomorrow evening as the 4th of July holiday falls on First Friday this year. The evening will be filled with even more fun and music than usual. Downtown Gadsden’s Broad Street will be closed from 1st Street to 7th Street – with food vendors, classic cars and entertainment on every block.
First Friday will run its normal hours from 5pm until 9pm. At 9pm, everyone’s attention will turn to the riverfront for the annual fireworks show presented by the Gadsden-Etowah Patriots Association. When the fireworks are over, the First Friday concert in the Mort Glosser Amphitheater will begin featuring Coosa River Diary – a thirteen piece ensemble made up of members of the Etowah Youth Orchestra. All of these Independence Day events in Gadsden are free and you should be able to find plenty of parking throughout the Downtown Gadsden area.
