Attempted Murder: Michael Hammett, James White and Jamie Ray

Gadsden police have arrested three men accused of attacking a Southside woman. Police have charged Michael Hammett, James White and Jamie Ray with attempted murder. The incident happened Sunday afternoon on Eisenhower Street in south Gadsden. Investigators say the victim was riding in the back seat of a vehicle when the three suspects forced the driver to stop. According to investigators, when the vehicle stopped, a brick was thrown through an open back window, striking a woman in the face. Police are not releasing the name or condition of the woman, but they do say she remains hospitalized. Investigators also say the attack could have stemmed from a past disagreement, but that the injured woman and some other passengers did not know the suspects. All three men are being held in the Etowah County Detention Center. Hammett's bond is $100,000. White and Ray are being held on $50,000 each.
