Friday, July 11, 2014

The Anniston Munitions Center at the Anniston Army Depot, conducts a change of command ceremony, today.  Lieutenant Colonel David Schmitt is relinquishing his position as military commander.  Schmitt says he’ll miss the friendliness of the people in the area and the workers. He adds that the workers within the installation produce at a standard higher than most other organizations. Lieutenant Colonel Wendell Moore will be assuming command of the Anniston Munitions Center.  He is a graduate of numerous military schools and has received countless recognitions of his superior military service.  He attended Basic Training at Ft. McClellan 24 years ago and trained at A-I-T.  Moore says it is good to be back and he is focused on the duties of his command in this era. For Lieutenant Moore, the ceremony represents his acceptance of the mission for the accomplishment and welfare of the Anniston Munitions Center and begins his tour of duty as Commander.
