Anniston City Council Approves $10,000 Allocation

The Anniston City Council approves an allocation of $10,000 to Calhoun County’s Crime Stoppers organization. Ward 3 City Councilman Seyram Selase says issues such as community policing, the High Point Model-which is a strategy adopted by communities that seeks to curb gun, gang and drug violence, community education, and a Gun Buyback program are all a part of the aggressive initiative the city is taking on to make neighborhoods safe. According to officials the new and revived effort to reduce crime in Anniston’s communities is motivated by the partnership with local law enforcement and the business community.
