Gadsden Etowah Chamber of Commerce Members Catch Potential Scam

According to the Gadsden Etowah Chamber of Commerce President Heather New, there is a potential scam aiming at the Chamber’s members. One of Gadsden’s Chamber members was contacted to renew their ad in the Chamber’s annual publication, The Current, by a call center outside of Alabama. The caller reviewed the member's ad copy with them, which was similar to the actual copy the Chamber published in their guide. The caller left two call-back numbers, one of which turns up a Peoria, Illinois address through an online search. Chamber President, Heather New says that the Chamber never subcontracts sales on any of their products or programs to an outside group. New adds that if you are ever contacted by anyone with a Chamber-related program for sale, or anything for sale that sounds related to the Chamber, and you are concerned about its legitimacy, you can just give them a call to verify.
