A big Saturday of fun and music is being planned for this weekend in the City of Southside. An event that started out as a one-time-only 50th Anniversary celebration for the city will celebrate its 8th year on Saturday with vendors of all kinds, a fun kids play area and loads of music – including country star John Michael Montgomery. Southside Mayor Wally Burns says that – as always - admission to Cityfest is free. Southside’s Cityfest is held on the campus of Southside High School. Gates open at 2pm this Saturday. The entertainment begins at 3 o’clock and will feature Stereo Revival, The Brooke Danielle Band, Them Dirty Roses. Headliner John Michael Montgomery will wrap up the night starting at 8pm. No coolers or pets will be allowed, but be sure to bring your lawn chairs or blankets.
