New Alabama Unemployment Rates Released

Alabama's unemployment rate for June is the same as May's rate. According to Governor Robert Bentley, the 6.8 percent rate represents nearly 145,000 people who are looking for jobs. June's rate is higher than last year in the same time period when it was 6.5 percent. In our area, Cherokee County has the lowest unemployment rate at 5.9 percent and Calhoun County has the highest at 7.8 percent.
