Two Collinsville Men Face Animal Cruelty Charges
Authorities uncover dozens of mistreated dogs at a Collinsville home.
According to the Collinsville Police Department, two Collinsville men will face animal cruelty charges after police found more than 24 mistreated dogs at a home. Collinsville Assistant Police Chief Rex Leath said they found five dead dogs - some of them just bones - and 22 other dogs at a home on Gregory Avenue Wednesday afternoon. Leath added that many of the dogs, primarily beagles and hound dogs, were not expected to survive. They were found after a complaint about odor coming from the property. The surviving dogs were taken to the DeKalb County Animal Adoption Center.
