Charged: Burglary 1st Degree & Assault 2nd Degree

A man believe to be involved in the stabbing of two people is behind bars. According to the DeKalb County Sheriff”s Office, Jeremy Williams of Fort Payne was wanted by authorities in relation to a home invasion where two victims were assaulted with a knife.  According to officials, Williams was spotted in a vehicle by a Drug Task Force agent. Williams fled the scene and patrol officers pursued him a short distance on County Road 116 until he slid into a ditch at the intersection of 116 and County Road 85. Authorities say he was taken into custody after a brief scuffle and one officer was kicked. Williams was taken to the DeKalb County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of attempting to Elude and Resisting Arrest. Williams was transferred to the Cherokee County Detention Center on charges of Burglary 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, and Domestic Violence 2nd Degree.   His bond is set at $100,000.
