Plenty of outdoor sports are all a part of the fun children ages 6 to 10 are having at Foothills Day Camp at Camp Lee in Anniston. The camp was established by the Rector of Grace Episcopal Church in Anniston, the Reverend Lee Shafer. Shafer wanted to create a free summer camp for children whom would not otherwise be able to attend summer camp and staff it with gifted high school aged people, college students, and adults from all over the Anniston area and the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama. Today, members of the Foothills Day Camp staff talked to TV24 about their reason for working with the camp, where they’ve come from, and their love for the children.Grace Episcopal Church in Anniston sponsors and facilitates Foothills Day Camp.
