Fan Track Drive in Talladega

Talladega Superspeedway fans were given an opportunity to drive their passenger vehicle two laps around the Talladega Superspeedway this weekend. “Fan Track Drive,” was a fundraising event for the American Red Cross. The drivers contributed $50 to be able to closely follow one of Talladega Superspeedway’s Emergency Services vehicles, which lead the field at highway speed. Fans say it was an adrenaline rush and they were hoping to push their speed to the max. According to American Red Cross Talladega St.Clair Community Chapter Executive, Peggy Mann, the Red Cross does wonderful things in our area that save peoples’ lives each and every day. She says that this type of fundraising event will help them provide their services and give supporters the opportunity for some fun. Coming up for the American Red Cross at Talladega Superspeedway is the annual “Laps for Life” blood drive, scheduled for September 11.
