JSU Hosts Media Day

Jacksonville State hosted the media on campus today just ahead of fall camp. The Gamecocks return 18 starters to a team that went to the third round of the FCS playoffs and are the favorite to win the OVC this season. Led by new head coach John Grass, the team is now dealing with the expectation of winning. Grass says they aren’t shying away from those expectations, but they are putting them in perspective.

The team will have a new head coach but most everything else has remained the same. Players say the continuity has led to a great offseason as they gear up for the start of preseason practice.

The deepest position for JSU is arguably at quarterback. Last season Eli Jenkins, Max Shortell and Kyle West all played and won games. This season they add Georgia Bulldog transfer Christian LeMay giving JSU coaches four talented signal callers to choose from. JSU fall camp Friday at 7:00pm & they'll go in full pads August 5th. They will practice a total of 29 times before the season opener at Michigan State on Friday August 29th.
