Spirit of Anniston Downtown Main Street New Executive Director

Main Street Alabama, a nonprofit organization that helps to create partnerships, broaden community engagement, and develop strategies that create jobs has been a supporter of the Calhoun County region for more than two years, now. It has become a strategic partner with the city of Oxford and has also been integral to many of the changes to Anniston’s historic downtown. And, according to Main Street officials, the program is all about a city’s expansion, growth, and sustainable change. Today, the Spirit of Anniston Downtown Main Street shared one of its many new changes with TV24. The Anniston program has a new executive director. P J Stephenson is a transplant from Oklahoma who sees the changes to the program’s leadership as a reflection of the initiative’s focus.According to Main Street Alabama, it has helped to create an investment of more than $4 million dollars for the infrastructure expansions and relocations for buildings and programs within the city of Anniston. Stephenson says that in his two weeks as Executive Director, he has seen Anniston’s downtown continue to support the many resources that are already here.Stephenson also praises the first year success of Anniston’s Fourth Fridays.
