National Stop on Red Week

Wednesday, August 6, 2014

The National Coalition for Safer Roads recognizes National Stop on Red Week this week by promoting safe driving and raising awareness about the dangers of red-light running.  The organization is calling for more red-light safety cameras.  Because they have found that they are a critical tool in improving driver behavior and reducing red-light running. According to research by the N-C-S-R, 95 percent of Alabamians have positively changed their driving behavior and have not received another ticket after their first red-light safety camera violation.  National Stop on Red Week is sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration and it aims to educate drivers about the dangers of red-light running and to reduce the number and severity of traffic crashes.
