Lincoln's Jauntavius Johnson Commits to Auburn

The Class of 2015 in East Alabama is without question a very talented one. On Wednesday, one of the top prospects made his college decision. Lincoln senior Jauntavius Johnson narrowed his list of scholarships to Alabama and Auburn.

The big fella picked the Tigers but he added some theatrics to keep the crowd and the media guessing by picking up and putting down both the Alabama and Auburn hats. Johnson then left the stage completely and returned in Tiger colors. He says us he is glad to have the decision now official.

Johnson has shown major improvement in the last two years and plans to take another big jump this fall. Now that the decision behind him, he can focus on the primary goal of his senior season. Johnson stands 6'3" 320lbs. Most recruiting services list him as a 3 or 4 star prospect. He’s the No. 28 defensive tackle in the country and a top 15 overall prospect in Alabama.

Johnson becomes the 2nd local player headed to the Plains joining Southside offensive lineman Tyler Carr who committed in late June. Johnson is the Tiger's first defensive line verbal and gives Auburn 19 total commitments for it’s 2015 class.
