An organization that helps children who have suffered from sexual and physical abuse receives a monetary donation, today.   The Calhoun Cleburne Children’s Center is a Children’s Advocacy Center and has been providing free services to children and their families.  The Calhoun County Achievement Foundation  presented a check for $5000 to help the agency pay down the mortgage on their building at 2100 Leighton Avenue in Anniston.  They also received a donation of an undisclosed amount from an anonymous donor.  Calhoun Cleburne Children’s Center Executive Director Joe Nabors says that it is an incredible day for the agency. Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson who is on the agency’s board says that today’s actions will help the center continue to provide forensic services, counseling and victim’s advocacy. Calhoun County Achievement Foundation’s Chris Wright says their decision to support the agency was motivated by their desire to use money raised by this community to help the center do their jobs. Calhoun Cleburne Children’s Center officials say they are a place where victims are protected and child abusers are brought to justice.
